Anatoly Mikhailovich Sagalevich, Ph.D., Professor (RUS)

He is a Russian explorer, who works at the Shirshov Institute of Oceanology of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Since 1979 he is the director of the Russian Deepwater Submersibles Laboratory. Sagalevich took part in the construction of Pisces VIII, Pisces IX and MIR Deep Submergence Vehicles (DSV) and completed more than 300 submersions as the chief pilot of DSVs.

Paul Rose (GBR)

Paul is a field science support expert. His next field project is a climate change project based on the Taylor Glacier in Antarctica December 2009 and January 2010.

He is a published Author; Paul co-authored his BBC linked book, Oceans. He has written numerous commissioned magazine articles and is currently writing for a new book on Great Explorers and the foreword to a new Antarctica guide. He writes for BBC News and is a member of the Society of Authors.

Alf O. Brubakk, Ph.D., M.D. (NOR)

It is extremely well known to doctors and researchers working in this field and its editors and contributors are internationally recognized as experts on the subject. This new edition has been thoroughly updated to reflect the latest developments in the field.

Research area: Diving medicine.


Together with Tom Neuman he edited fifth edition of Bennett and Elliotts' Physiology and Medicine of Diving.

Neal W. Pollock, Ph.D. (USA)

Dr. Neal Pollock is a Research Director at Divers Alert Network (DAN) and a Senior Research Associate in the Center for Hyperbaric Medicine and Environmental Physiology at Duke University Medical Center, both in Durham, North Carolina. His academic training is in zoology/marine science, exercise physiology and environmental physiology.

Neal developed and maintains a breath-hold incident database for DAN that includes cases from 2004 forward.


Carla Binelli, Ph.D. (ITA)

In 1993 Carla ventured into the technical realm and was instrumental in bringing nitrox, trimix and “tech” diving to Italy and nearby areas. She is certified on oxygen, semi-closed and closed circuit rebreathers. Carla has participated in diving expeditions in the Mediterranean, Indian Ocean, Red Sea and Adriatic Sea including that of the battleship “Szent Istvàn”. She has certified more than 1,000 divers & instructors and has logged several thousands of dives.


Fabio Ruberti (ITA)

This is the story of a filmmaker whose passion for history and wreck diving have sent him on several missions to explore wrecks with historical and archeological value, and ultimately to find the truth.

The research he did on the Szent Istvan however resulted in a technical dive film that has won awards at film festivals in Italy, Antibes and Serbia.


Petar J. Denoble, M.D., D.Sc. (USA)

As a Senior Research Director, Dr. Denoble is involved with development of new studies diving safety, oversees ongoing studies and monitors their progress. He is currently the touchstone at DAN for Project Dive Exploration and the DAN Injury Database.

Dr. Denoble coordinates development of software tools for data collection, management and analysis within DAN Research. He coordinates standardization of data with dive computer manufacturers. He also works on integration and harmonization of research data management processes within International DAN.


Martin Sayer (USA)

Head of SAMS Scientific Diving Unit and the Dunstaffnage Hyperbaric Unit

Research Interests: scientific diving techniques, underwater technology: development, validation and implementation, hyperbaric medicine and diving physiology, fish and fisheries biology, artificial reef research, whole animal physiology.


Irena Radić Rossi, Mr. Sc.(CRO)

Department of Archaeological Heritage, Department of Underwater Archaeology in Zagreb

She is a specialist in Roman shipwrecks caring large cargoes of amphorae.




Toni Breskovic, M.D. (CRO)
